We are three sisters in very different phases of life, giving us each a unique perspective on our common goal: a joyous, happy life. Katie is a single woman in her mid-thirties who loves education, writing, music, and Orange Theory Fitness. She also fights against Obsessive Compulsive Disorder on a daily basis and is passionate about mental health advocacy. Christina is a full-time mother and part-time ballroom dance instructor who loves her family fiercely and has a keen sense of business. She enjoys sharing tips she’s discovered about parenting, cooking, and DIY projects. She loves helping women find happiness through engaging in self-care. Anna is a graduate student studying to be an Occupational Therapist. A dancer and Guillain-Barre Syndrome survivor, she is determined to help others find their best quality of life through healthy eating, exercise, and self-care. We are Utah transplants from California and we swap ideas many times a day. We are broadening our circle to include all of you as we continue to exchange ideas and life experiences regarding healthy living.

Here's a little about us individually!

Hi! I’m Katie and I’m the oldest sister, but not the oldest sibling- we have an older brother who we adore ❤️. I graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree in choral education and a minor in English education. I then got a master’s degree from the U of U in music education. I’ve taught a combination of choir, piano, and English at the junior high and high school level for the past 11 years. I’m passionate about teaching, Performing Arts, the power of music, advocating for mental health, writing, photo journaling, and making cards. My faith in God and my family are extremely important to me and are the most joyous part of my life.

This picture was taken on my birthday this past September, 2018. I was over 200 pounds and not happy with my body. That day, I began a fitness challenge with three of my former college roommates and best friends. A month later, I started working out at Orange Theory Fitness. I have a way to go, but I’ve made progress and I’ll be sharing parts of my journey here, along with thoughts on mental illness, living a gluten-free life, and more.

HI everyone πŸ‘‹πŸ»! My name is Anna Houston. I am the youngest sister πŸ˜‹I have a passion for health and wellness, because I believe the more well you are (physically, emotionally, socially, mentally, spiritually) the more joy you can experience in life. And I’m all about more joy!

WHY IS HEALTH IMPORTANT TO ME? A little over 3 years ago on September 8th, 2015, I was admitted to the hospital with Guillain-BarrΓ© syndrome. This acute autoimmune disease caused me to lose feeling and use of my body from my toes to the inside of my mouth. I experienced an intense 3-month period of not being well. The time it took to fully recover was closer to 8 months, but the first 3 months I experienced a loss of motivation. I could not find joy in my life. Walking down a hallway was hard. Getting out of bed felt impossible most days. A lot of things contributed to helping me emerge from this dark time, but occupational and physical therapy was HUGE. They not only wanted my body to heal, but they fostered resilience in me, and helped me create a new path for myself that I never would have considered. I began to feel WELL despite my still-repairing body. This experience transformed me, and inspired me to dedicate the rest of my life to promoting WELLNESS and JOY in the lives of others. I am so grateful to them, and this is my way of paying it forward! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

I am excited to share with you what I’ve learned from personal experience, my studies in health at BYU, and my graduate studies in Occupational Therapy at the U of U! I can’t wait to learn from you, too.
