Thankful Thursday: Joey
Hey, it's Katie. Today on #thankfulthursday and in honor of National Siblings Day yesterday, I’m grateful for our big brother. Joe is a sweet, gentle, patient man. He is forgiving. He is eloquent- his poetry is breathtaking. He is smart and creative. He loves to read. He is a wonderful husband and father. He is a frequent guest teacher at Ella’s class, helping with science experiments. Joe gives thoughtful, clever gifts. I remember when he spent $50-60 (which seemed like a fortune at the time) on a live bunny rabbit for our mom because she loves animals. My brother has a huge imagination. I remember making plans together for an elaborate underground fort. The execution was a bit lacking, but it didn’t matter- the fun was in the anticipation. He used to go outside and think and dream for hours out on our rope swing. Joe is the one who calls to check in and see how all his little sisters are doing. He is a true family man. I like to think all our girl drama made him long-suffering and sweet, but he probably came that way. He is honorable and good and I’m so proud to be his sister.
