We had a bridal shower for my SIL last night and I made a charcuterie board! Making these has become a fun (delicious) hobby for me. Here are some tips I have learned for making a charcuterie:
🍇 pick a variety of fruits, cheeses, meats and nuts. You could also add some veggies.
🍇 place your small bowls and large cheese items on the board first. In the two boards pictured, I chose cheese logs, brie, a cheese ball, and some little bowls for "loose" items or strong items like pickles and olives.
🍇 next add smaller cheeses, meat and crackers. I like to roll some of the meats, and fan out the cheese slices, etc.
🍇 there shouldn’t be any blank space on the board so once your main items are set, scootch things in so you can fill in with grapes, nuts, etc. Don't be shy! Really fill that board to the brim.
🍇 you’ll be surprised at how much you can actually fit on one board.
Some of my favorite things to add to my boards are:
🧀 goat cheese log
🧀 Brie
🧀 salami
🧀 prosciutto
🧀 sliced cheese
🧀 trail mix and chocolate covered nuts
🧀 fig and olive crisps (Trader Joe’s)
🧀 grapes
🧀 dried fruit

I get pretty much everything for my boards from Trader Joe's! I have found great wood boards at TJ Maxx and Trader Joe's during the holidays. here is a similar one to the one I have which is an olive wood board. I'm absolutely obsessed with it!
