What We Are Eating Wednesday: Salads

Hey! It’s Anna here. So let’s talk about salads, because let’s be honest. I eat a salad about every day. I’m the official salad-maker in my family, and I take pride in making each one a work of art. So what if you hate salads?! No shame. Here are some tips that might spark a newfound love for those leafy greens again 😋: add protein! Meats, cheese (Parmesan, Asiago, feta, crumbled blue cheese), hard boiled eggs (6 g protein) , low fat cottage cheese, nuts (3-6 g protein) find a dressing you ❤️ , that makes you excited to make another salad just to try it! Some of my faves are Brianne’s blush wine vinaigrette, Olive Garden Italian dressing (lite or regular), balsamic vinaigrette, and Boathouse yogurt based dressings (like cilantro avocado). 🥬 add colors and textures! The more colors, the more nutrients 👏🏻add different colored bell peppers, green onions, yellow tomatoes, cucumbers, or make it sweet with strawberries, blackberries, blueberries etc. fave textures: dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, almond slices, pecans, avocado, and celery.
