What We Are Eating Wednesday: HOW You Eat

Hey, Anna here! My beautiful friend Chloe from Santa Barbara is a practicing Health coach, and I asked her to share with us some wise words on healthy eating for #whatwereeatingwednesday❤️

“Health is not dependent on merely WHAT you eat— its HOW you eat as well.
Image may contain: 1 person, indoorMany people come to me asking for the best diet to eat for optimal digestion—They want to de-bloat, feel un-costipated, + reduce their heart burn.

It surprises them when I start asking them question that don’t pertain to food. I ask them if they are a fast or slow eater, if they eat on the run or sitting down, if they eat at their desk, infront of the TV or while doing emails?

I ask these things because though food choices are important that is only half of the equation for optimal digestion—the other half is weather you are in the PARASYMPATHETIC nervous system or the SYMPATHETIC because i’ll tell you this— no amount of broccoli sprouts and gorbonzo beans is going to digest well if you scarfed it down while driving or ate while distracted by your phone.

For optimal digestion you must SLOW down with food, chew it, relax while eating and give full awareness to the task at hand. When people start doing this their digestive symptoms go away pretty quickly, without even changing their diet or taking a pill.

So try it out, put a timer on for 20 minutes and enjoy every bite of food and watch how different you feel after that meal!”
