Fitness Friday: Persistence

Image may contain: 1 person, outdoorToday for #fitnessfriday, we have another guest feature! @farr.andrew is a pro biker, a life coach, and a good friend of Katie’s. As I have trained for events ranging from fun runs to 100-mile mountain bike races, one of the biggest lessons I have learned is being consistent with my efforts and finding joy in the journey. As a life and performance coach, I have noticed that the best memories clients have are not necessarily on race day. The journey of training and seeing personal growth, no matter what their level of fitness is, is ultimately the most rewarding.

Reaching your potential takes time and patience. In the words of Calvin Coolidge, 30th President of United States, “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent”.

Don’t fear fitness. Fitness is a way to seek your potential through action. When I train for events, I am challenging myself physically and emotionally to be the best I can be at any discipline in life. If you have a dream, envision it, put a date to it, break it down, make it personal, and never give up on YOURSELF.

“Hell on earth is to one day meet the person you could have become, and they are a stranger to you.” —Anonymous
